Sakura ougon kagetsu

Scientific name: Sakura ougon kagetsu

Place of Origin: Japan

Mr. Mitsuhashi

Is credited with finding, breeding or naming this cultivar

Year: Unkown

Rarity (1-10) 10

'Sakura ougon kagetsu'   roughly translates to  "Good months of golden cherry flowers" (let me know if that's wrong).   The name implies that it will flower while young with Pink flowers and will have Golden leaves. This ultra rare cultivar is what you would expect the small form of 'Hummel's sunset' to look like although its unclear if they are related.   This slow growing cultivar was originally from the selections of Former Mr. Mitsuhashi  A noted Japanese plants man.

Variegated Small form plants

Variegated Crosby's compact

Scientific name: 'Variegated crosby's compact'

Year: Unkown

Rarity (1-10)9

"Variegated crosby's compact'  is the ultra rare variegated form of  'Crosby's compact'.   There may be  three different clones being cultivated currently, one being  more white,  another being more colorful and a third that is smaller.  Variegated Crosby's compact is a slow growing cultivar that  is  prone to producing mostly albino leaves. When this happens the plant is no  longer able to produce chlorophyll and photosynthesis stops  often killing  the plant.
